Vanke’s ambition in education started with Shanghai Fudan-Vanke Experimental Private School, a community school it co-founded with High School Affiliated to Fudan University in 1996 in its trial on small-class teaching and premium programs. Now, as the owner of such education brands as Dare to Dream (DTD), Vanke Shanghai Education (VSE) has grown into an education service provider that offers a full spectrum of education products covering K to 12 and features bilingual education integrating both Chinese and western cultures.
As a newly-launched brand in 2017, DTD is based on VSE’s success in operating 5 private schools and 5 public ones and establishing three pillar education products. It is one of the key steps of the overall plan of VSE in East China and the long-term education strategy of Vanke Group as an integrated urban development service provider. DTD is expected to reshape VSE’s development strategy and champion its goal of stronger regional lead, wider national influence, and greater global recognition.
"Teaching and nourishing the most talented individuals under heaven is the third delight a true gentleman could have."
-Excerpt from the Exhausting of All the Mental Constitution of The Mencius
Thanks to an inspirational discussion among VSE’s principals, the new education brand was named De Xin Le in Chinese, which originated in an excerpt from The Exhausting of All the Mental Constitution of The Mencius (a collection of anecdotes and conversations of the Confucian thinker and philosopher Mencius on topics in moral and political philosophy), “Teaching and nourishing the most talented individuals under heaven is the third delight a true gentleman could have”. It is indeed a delight for a gentleman to get the talents, inspire their minds, answer their questions, impart knowledge, witness their growth, and, through them, disseminate truth to all to serve the society and benefit the people.
